Do I have to invite everyone?

My DS is turning 3 in July - goes to nursery. He has mentioned one boy in particular that he would like to come to our house. I said why don't we invite him to your party?

Yes - then mentioned 2 others. I know these are the children he regularly plays with. However, because of collection and drop off times potentially (I'm guessing) I have never met the parents?

Do I ask nursery what to do? Or will that open a can of worms? I don't want to invite the whole room, just the selected few? AIBU I'm thinking that's ok?

It's fine to just invite a few. Our nursery would hand out invites to parents at pick up if you knew the children's names.

It's fine

Totally fine to just invite a few! All the nursery parties I've been to with my just 4yo have been a variation of top 10 friends, similar groups at all the parties!

I also didn't know anyone at dd's nursery before her 4th birthday due to hasty lockdown handovers including the girl she always says is her 'best friend' I just asked her keyworkers for a list of kids she plays regularly with. I'll be honest, it was a list of about 15 kids so a bit of a system shock haha but my dd had a brilliant birthday party and it was amazing to see her playing with all her little friends and finally meet their parents. It's never occured to me to be put off inviting someone because I don't know their parents. I'm shy yes but it's about my kid and who she wants there x

Thanks. I'll just do it then.

@88milesanhour I'm not shy, I just don't have the capacity for 30 odd kids and family 😂

I would like to meet some of the parents and the children too. It's been a strange couple of years!
