To have never heard of a 'wisdom tooth' figure?

News to me! Was reading a thread from a few yrs ago, and people were discussing this, so I googled it. I had no idea this was the new, desirable figure that women aspire to (yes, I'm late to most things!). I was a teen in the 90's and everything was all about the skinny look, so this is refreshing in comparison - but how can anyone get that shape naturally?

I went down a rabbit hole and ended up on insta, it is definitely a thing, but even though some of it is down to gym work it looks so incredibly sculpted (stylised) I just can't get my head around it. Here is a google image of what I mean.

I was already aware of the Kim K and booty obsession but thought it had passed long by now.

Does anyone over the age of 30 desire this? I am presuming it is a youth thing. Or maybe it's a subculture thing? I don't have any DD's so can't ask one, does your DD like this big booty/tiny waist business?
Are boobs allowed or are they unfashionable now? What's going on with those little waists??!!

Off I slink with my flat arse and weedy legs Blush

Oh my I do not want to look like that! I am way over 30 though.

godmum56 · 22/06/2022 19:47

Gonna say a whole lotta photoshopping goin' on.

Abra1d1 · 22/06/2022 19:47

Some of the women in the online fitness group I am in are keen to increase butt size. I don’t understand it. I would prefer to have a small rear and hips and that’s my goal.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 22/06/2022 19:48

That's some serious photoshop 😂

FabFitFifties · 22/06/2022 19:49

Never heard that phrase. Natural, I'm sure can be lovely. "achieved" not so much.

BloomsburyNook · 22/06/2022 19:51

Yes, a lot of it looks shopped, but someone must be pulling it off! I have seen a few girls out and about with a less exaggerated version, usually in leggings.

From what I know (which isnt much) it would be difficult to control this via diet, as one can't spot reduce from the waist whilst gaining on arse and thigh.
I am intrigued!

The Kardashians have apparently recently lost the implants/BBLs so maybe this look is on the way out now? I like a gym-achievable curvy bum etc, but that Photoshop+plastic surgery extreme shape just looks ridiculous to me

NeverDropYourMooncup · 22/06/2022 20:02

I was clearly born before my time. I had something resembling that figure (tiny waist, large backside, way over a standard hourglass difference between waist and hips, not much in the way of a bust) - and was constantly insulted for being fat.

I'm less a wisdom tooth and more an 'in desperate need of a root canal' type of figure these days.

Bump implants or padding.

CourtneeLuv · 22/06/2022 20:07

Bum

AffIt · 22/06/2022 20:12

I'm considerably over 30 myself, but one of my young relations tells me that some young women use the same sort of foam padding / dance tights combo that drag queens use to achieve this 'lewk'.

Sounds really uncomfy to me, but each to their own.

Dilbertian · 22/06/2022 20:17

One of my dds has that sort of figure naturally (less the ridiculous photoshopping). She finds it really difficult to find trousers that fit. She does not want to live in leggings or dresses. But trousers that will go over her hips gape madly at the waist, and trousers that would fit her waist - well, she can't get them up over her hips!

I OTOH have the opposite problem: no waist to speak of, so things that fit my waist flap on my hips and things that fit my hips strangle my waist. Clothes fit me much better when I'm overweight and develop hips and a bum.

One of my dss has the same problem as his sister.

I blame dh.

prettyteapotsplease · 22/06/2022 20:17

The fashion for ever more extreme body types couldn't get more ridiculous if it tried. If my body looked like that I'd wonder what had gone wrong with it. It looks silly and cartoonish.

Well this is disappointing, I clicked on this thinking I was going to see little figurines carved out of wisdom teeth.

So did I 😆

Oceanus · 22/06/2022 20:33

Wow, had never heard of it by that name. I lived in Brazil for a while and this is what most women aspire to over there, it's the embodiment of sexy and hot.

Shlomping1234 · 22/06/2022 20:54

They look like a frigging Centaur 🤣

BloomsburyNook · 22/06/2022 21:11

there appear to be a line of youtube vids that show you how to get rid of small hips and make them more rounded and wide. It would seem that if you dont go out like a bottle at the hip then you are doomed to have 'hip dips' (pats mine with acceptance)

so the absence of wide, rounded hips means they are dipped. Sounds utterly silly to me, the only thing ive ever heard of that can alter hip width is childbirth.

Perhaps they are building muscle there.

Am I the only one not getting the 'wisdom tooth figure' thing.
Wisdom teeth are square topped back teeth with large roots how/ why would anyone want to look like one?
I don't get it !?!?

Fairislefandango · 22/06/2022 22:09

I think it looks utterly, utterly stupid. Women who have vaguely that kind of figure naturally do not look like that and do not look stupid.

SemperIdem · 22/06/2022 22:12

If it helps, Kim Kardashian, who heralded a certain type of body shape becoming popular, now seems to be bringing back skinny.

The most attractive body types throughout history, have been the ones most difficult to obtain.

Male bodies are never subject to trends of course.

AfterSchoolWorry · 22/06/2022 22:15

Oh dear.

indoorplantqueen · 22/06/2022 22:15

Yep Kim K does not look like that anymore. She must've had whatever she had in removed.
