Why are websites such as Entitledto.com always so wildly inaccurate?

We aren't a complicated family, I put in my income, I put in DH's and it says we should get £200 a week in tax credits.

We have been getting £170 a week, then we updated his income and we are now getting £49 a week.

Websites like EntitledTo.com have always been widely inaccurate and always over estimating what we are entitled to.

What is the point of them apart from screwing people over?
Theres little difference in trying it with UC, it's basically the same.

Always been spot on when I've used them.

Companies like that use your data and sell it to other companies. Use a the Turn2Us benefits calculator - they’re a charity with no interest in your data other to help more people.

This is a great question because my friend and I were just having a conversation about this. I have no clue but I’ve always found it to be SO unreliable

JuneJubilee · 21/06/2022 20:26

I don't know?!

im trying to help a friend decide if they're better off staying on TC or moving to UC. I've said that personally I've not known anyone better off moving to UC, but the calculator says they will be...thing is, if it's wrong, they're properly screwed!!

Get a proper one done by CAB

CuttedUpDress · 21/06/2022 20:45

It was correct for me.

I was better off on UC than TC.

They don't have my data though.
