Watching with interest.

We didn’t go got electric as we needed two at 2.5x3m so already expensive but we shopped around and got them both for £600 including free delivery. It would have been over 1k for electric versions but the winder is super easy to use and they come out in seconds.

That's good to know, did you fit it yourself?

Bumping for you OP. I’m also interested in the answer.

We're looking at a Luxaflex awning, fully motorised with a wind/rain sensor. We've got a huge patio and I'm sick of parasols that never shade where you want them to and fall over in the slightest gust of wind.

We want it to cover 2/3rds of the length of the house so around 8 metres long and 4 or 5 metres depth across the patio and it's about £6k I think fully fitted.

That sounds amazing! I love the sensor idea.

Do you have a website where you're getting it?

We had a huge decking & pool area at the back of our last home.

We purchased electric awnings but the only ones that were big enough were commercial ones. Ours were 5x4 meters each.

It was an eye watering £10,000 and this was decades ago!

Looking back It was a huge sum to pay out.

However, it made a beautiful space, we had a Mediterranean style open plan back to the house and I've never enjoyed a space quite as much since.

If I had the money I'd get them again in a heart beat. They didn't breakdown in the 10 years we owned them.

www.luxaflex.co.uk/products/awnings/

If you contact them, they'll put you onto your local dealer.

@Badger1970 how is your awning holding up? What size did you got for?
