Definitely sounds like it. I'm 51 and had many of those and more and have started on HRT. It's made such a difference. (I am also obese.)

MessOfEyelinerAndSpraypaint · 21/06/2022 05:28

I am not obese, nor on HRT, and had menopause triggered from 0-10 overnight by an emergency operation.
It took in all you listed, including disgusting overheating that felt like I was a boiling kettle & lead to me puking and or fainting on the spot. It was vile & lasted 5 years while GPS did sweet FA to help me. The change in body shape, sleepless nights, dry mouth...take charge now. Report to GP and keep on till they help. Its like falling off a cliff. Good luck

Omg yes I have a dry mouth (and vagina) lol
iv had night sweats the past week.

iv been complaining of feeling this way for 2 years they haven’t linked to peri and I haven’t either until this morning when I have been frantically a searching for why I feel this way.
my doctor is so rubbish I’m dreading the thoight of getting him to take me seriously

Sometimes, I start a sentence and halfway through I completely forget what I was saying. It’s awful.

My mum was visiting an Chinese medicine therapist and acupuncturist who was helping her with an injury and she said she took her through menopause and she has no symptoms. I’m curious to give it a try.

@Janinebutcher79 I have pretty much everything you have...inc the "too hot/vomiting" that @MessOfEyelinerAndSpraypaint has.

I also have lost empathy for anyone or anything.

Bossy people who tend to dominate conversation can fuck off too. I don't care about your holiday, your kids, your fucking veg plot or your inlaws being a PITA.

I just want everyone and everything except my cats to fuck off and leave me alone.

DailySheetWasher · 21/06/2022 12:54

I'm guessing from your username you're early 40s?

I'm 50 and can't really relate to any of your symptoms except occasional insomnia. My periods started getting heavier and more frequent around your age and are now quite irregular (still horribly heavy).

No other symptoms really, and everyone's different, but it's hard to say what's peri and what's just our age and maybe our lifestyle choices catching up with us.

MessOfEyelinerAndSpraypaint · 21/06/2022 13:15

@Janinebutcher79 the day flies when you can't sleep, sorry, I meant to return & got distracted-another symptom! Where's muh memory?
Can you approach a different GP, if you are feeling apprehensive about being taken seriously? Don't let anyone use your weight as a diversion: I'm sick of hearing about women carrying extra weight being dismissed, insulted, patronised. We know ourselves: please get a list together of your symptoms and go for help. Is there someone you trust to go with you, if your GPs are gonna be problematic? I fought through mine, all the way to this sagging side of the menopause. It has been hell, getting the weight down & watching my face fall, a host of hitherto unknown problems: I'm now allergic to insect bites, i mean anaphylactic shock level. I have uti that went on for months.
On the plus side, no fucks to give, single & happy!
Hope you can fight for the help you, and all of us women, deserve.
