How is chip on front tooth fixed?

I’m not a fan of the dentist and have to admit I haven’t been for a couple of years, I’ve got an appointment this week as I’ve chipped one of my front teeth. The receptionist said it would probably be fixed with a filling but I’d this right? Looking online they mention bonding or a crown? Does anyone like the dentist?!

I guess it depends on how big / where it is. DS had a cap put on his. Very quick and easy and now you can't tell at all.

Composite bonding will do it

I've got a tiny chip on the face of one of my front teeth, but not all the way through iykwim.
It was filed down to be flat and some horrible banana flavoured thing on to strengthen my tooth

I have a chip on my front tooth that I did as a kid by running under a slide and banging it

I have what’s known as a cap. I’m not entirely sure what it is, but it’s bonded on there good. I used to have to have it reopened when I was still growing but now it’s fixed on good.

You can’t even tell I have it on there

I had some filling type material put on, but it didn't last, repaired a few times and then gave up and live with the chip - they did smooth it out though, not noticeable
