Fellow residents (mid to late 20's) in the block opposite me got out of their car a couple of weeks ago and fist bumped each other.

When I saw them do it I initially thought "eurgh" (I don't know why) but maybe they had a bet etc..

But...they keep doing it......every single time they get out their car together they fist bump, and completely irrationally its really winding me up!

Car space, kitchen window proximity means I can't not see it. Every bloody time I see it I get irrationally angry!

Anybody else have anything that winds them up for no particular reason??

People who always use their phone on speakerphone and walk along with it held under their chin like a walkie talkie... Just WHY.

How else are you meant to use your phone whilst it’s on loudspeaker lol? People do it to speak into the microphone

pedropony76 · 19/06/2022 20:51

Anyway getting internally angry because you see two people spud each other is very strange. Guessing you’re not in SW London

Stop being a curtain twitcher

Is this a serious response? I imagine PP would just prefer them to hold the phone to their ear and not have it on loudspeaker at all.

StupidUsernameUnavailable · 19/06/2022 20:53

@pedropony76 just thinking maybe just put it to the ear? If you are having a normal conversation on a phone why do you have to have it on loudspeaker??

I thought this was just me who was filled with irrational rage with this.

@User2145738790

Not a curtain twitcher. My kitchen window overlooks their parking space.

Because they want too…?

There’s so many reasons why people have their phone on loudspeaker as opposed to just holding it up to their ear. I thought the poster meant when people hold their phone to their chin whilst it’s on loudspeaker as if there was another way to hold it whilst on loudspeaker.

I now see they meant why doesn’t someone just hold it to their ear like normal. Fair enough. It’s an option on the phone tho so can’t exactly be mad at that lol

Oh really? That's how loudspeaker works? Of course I know what loudspeaker is 😂
Loudspeaker is for when you're at home on hold to some shit customer service and you want to carry on with your life.
It is no use when you are walking down a busy road... I would argue it's actually a hindrance.

I never said you didn’t understood how loudspeaker works? I’m the one who misunderstood your comment….

I'm in SW London, and it certainly winds me up, unless they're teenagers - and even then, being teenagers is more an excuse than a justification. Also high-fives. When I get to run the Universe - which it's generally agreed will be no later than next spring - high-fives will be punishable by public dunking in custard and then pelting with hundreds-and-thousands.

I shall be a demanding Grand Overseer, but a fair one. I'm in touch with what right-thinking people want.

I don't get the mechanics of this scene. They both get out, presumably on opposite sides of the car. So how are they reaching each other? Do they reach over the bonnet? Does one stand still and the other go to them?

It does seem odd if they are both in the car then both going inside. Fist bumps are for hellos, goodbyes and congratulations. This scenario seems to be none of thoes
