Grumpy 6 year old (nearly 7)

Is it just me or are 6/7 year olds so unpredictable and grumpy?! Maybe only my child but wow. It's intense. Soooo grumpy.

Mine can be, and he gets very stroppy if not allowed his own way.

I hear you. My 6 nearly 7 year old DS Is now the master of drama as well. This morning -

Me: DS, put on your shoes please I’ve had to ask you 7 times.

DS: “it hadn’t been 7 times! (Grumpy and semi shouty. Then changes to teary) The way you just spoke to me completely and utterly broke my heart into pieces.”

Yup, mines the same. So dramatic and arsey

I'd forgotten this stage. DS would dramatically tell me he hated me and he stomped up the stairs. He got really annoyed when I said 'that's OK, I'll always love you'. He's nearly 10 now and mostly wonderful.

Oh yes, mine told her younger sister that she found it "distressing" when the younger sis forgot to put a pen back in a "central location" whilst they were colouring earlier 🙈

Bumping this because my 6.5 year old is SO grumpy at the moment. I don’t know how to handle it! Everything is unfair as well.
