Is this worth being annoyed over?

Tonight I was meant to be on a girls night out.
My boyfriend guilt tripped me into staying in ...saying we never see each other.
Anyway he was meant to finish at 7 pm (he said I promise I won't be late and we will have the night together)
Surprise surprise he has just text and he is going to be late ..as they are "too busy" to leave
So I'm sat here alone whilst I could of been out having fun.
Aibu to be annoyed here?
I knew he would do this

Go on the girls night.

Teaandtoastedbiscuits · 18/06/2022 19:45

I'd be putting on my make up and heading out the door

StoneofDestiny · 18/06/2022 19:46

I knew he would do this

it's on you then.

AllFreeOwls · 18/06/2022 19:46

I would be annoyed. Remember this if he tries to guilt trip you at any point in the future.
Can you still join the girls night out?

monkeysox · 18/06/2022 19:46

Just go out

Ludo19 · 18/06/2022 19:47

He's controlling you and you're letting him. Get yourself ready and meet the girls. Tell him to fuck off.

gingersplodgecat · 18/06/2022 19:47

Seems to me he did it on purpose to stop you going out...

Remembertotakeabreak · 18/06/2022 19:48

Go out before he gets home and enjoy your evening!

Yup, this

ChubbyMorticia · 18/06/2022 19:49

Yep, I’d be annoyed. With myself, for canceling plans for a manipulative jerk.

teenagerinlove · 18/06/2022 19:49

Yeah that's not cool at all OP. At best it's completely thoughtless selfish behaviour, at worst it's a red flag for controlling behaviour.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 18/06/2022 19:49

Out you pop flower.

there’s a fluffy cocktail umbrella with your name on it.

He can fluff his own cock tail. 🍹

More fool you for falling for it when you knew better.

Littlebirdyouaresosweet · 18/06/2022 19:51

Is he always so controlling?

TempName01 · 18/06/2022 19:52

Please go out

MissAmbrosia · 18/06/2022 19:52

Just go out and leave a note. Won't he have a nice surprise later.

VintageVest · 18/06/2022 19:53

You can still be out having fun. Go, go, go!

mirrorballer · 18/06/2022 19:54

Go out and don't let him or any man control your life again. I'd put money on this being about him not wanting you to go out rather than suddenly wanting quality time.

You risk losing your friends if you're willing to ditch them for a night in with your bloke.

mrsbouquett · 18/06/2022 19:54

I wouldn’t of cancelled my plans in the first place
and based on this behaviour i wouldn’t be making plans with him again anyway

hshbjamo · 18/06/2022 19:56

Lifes too short to wait around for someone whos clearly trying to control you. Get ready and go out with the girls! Theres still time, its not even 8pm

cushioncovers · 18/06/2022 19:57

He didn't want you to go out. My ex used to do the same. You need to go out and don't let him talk you into not going out again.

Myworhl · 18/06/2022 19:59

“I knew he would do this” seriously? Hope that means you had plan B in place and are heading out now. Actions speak loudly

pigsDOfly · 18/06/2022 19:59

He's got you jumping to his command hasn't he?

Is it too late to join your friends now for your girls' night out?

If not take yourself to the cinema or something.

Don't sit at home waiting for him. And don't cancel arrangements for him in the future.

If you knew he'd do this why did you go along with it? It smacks of wanting to control you tbh.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 18/06/2022 20:00

I’d be out that door for good with the girls quick smart.

Hercisback · 18/06/2022 20:00

Go and join the girls. Fuck him.
