AIBU to be upset that my BIL and his wife didn't send me a birthday card? The most upsetting part is that my DH always gets a present, and 2 birthday cards, the second card from our nieces.

How is your relationship with your BIL and his wife? Not that this matters in the sense that good relations should predicate card sending, but it's useful context

It's the BIL you should be annoyed with really as you count as his "family".

Thanks for explaining. Then yeah i think YANBU, because you're family - there's no need for them to treat you somehow differently here.

It would be nice to get a card from your nieces, but unless your DH reminds his SIL I suspect that wouldn't happen. My DH is a brilliant dad but hopeless with cards and gifts and remembering dates.
It's not a sign he doesnt care about people and I don't get offended by this sort of thing as a result.

YABU they might just buy for immediate family

Is this your husband’s brother? If so I can understand him getting your husband, his brother, a gift and not you. And honestly, you’re an adult, does them forgetting your birthday really matter so much? Why are you so hurt? (genuine question) is there more to it than missing a card?

Do they usually get you something? If so, maybe they’ve just genuinely forgot. If not, why is it bothering you this year?
