To want to retrieve photos of my dead dad

Posting here for traffic.

Recently lost my dad extremely suddenly & unexpectedly. I have a 1 yr old daughter & as any new parent took loads of photos of her, a lot with her grandad, my dear dad. A few days ago I dropped my phone down the toilet (iPhone - not sure if this is relevant) & tried all the tricks but it's not switching on. I have logged on to my iCloud to see it's not been updated in the last 2 months. So my precious photos of dad are gone. I'm devastated.

Does anyone know if there is any way of retrieving photos from a dead iPhone ??

Yes go into the apple shop and explain, they will do what they can I have always found them very helpful.

I work in insurance and have seen reports from Apple where they have refused to even touch a phone that's been dropped in a toilet for hygiene reasons.

Maybe it fell in the washing up bowl/bath instead?
