Outsourcing all 'tech'?

Like, you outsource cleaning or childcare or gardening. I want to outsource tech. Someone who comes once a week and deals with whatever new app / permission / mod / parental control / WiFi issue I have. My kids could save up their requests / complaints / demands for T day when they come, gather all our devices and just sort whatever damn thing isn't working now. Is this an idea? Tech savvy student types could make a great side business out of it.

Great business idea! I’d need one of these if I didn’t have my DH around, he is very techy and I’m forever asking for his help!

It’s a thing - I worked for a HNW family and we had someone on call to do all this stuff! Never quite sure how much it cost. That man definitely saw and lot and knew a lot of secrets.

well that's it. I'm a SP and I bloody hate it all. I have a smart phone but only cos you basically have to now. It just feels like everyone else can sort this for their kids and I can't, so all their friends are playing together on Minecraft but I can't seem to to set the permissions so mine can. EA games wants a different sign in to Nintendo, to X box, to the Apple store. You Tube won't load on the kids' phones even though I have been through the parental controls and set it so it will. My (not live in) partner is tecchy but he's not around all the time and I don't like to just give him a list! I reckon this would a be a great little side-hussle.

yes the security side of it is the only issue isn't it. If you give them your passwords etc Maybe there could be a function on devices where they have a "maintenance" mode that is accessed in a separate way for a time window you set as the admin person so the Tech support can only have access between 9-11 on Wednesdays or whatever.

There is someone in our town who does this (or at least to, might be retired now). Mainly PC stuff, but would do other things too. Advertised under 'Everyone Needs a Nigel'. Nice chap, used to work with him.
