CMPA misery

My 8 week daughter was prescribed Nutramigen for suspected CMPA a week ago. Her symptoms were red raised rash, mucous nappies and lots of crying/pain symptoms after feeds. I'd initially put this down to wind or colic but once she started with the rash I thought I'd better get it checked out.

A week on and her nappies look different and less mucousy but she is still getting new rashes and still seems distressed after feeds. All I'm getting from the GP is that 'it takes time' and we have to give it at least 2 weeks on the Nutramigen before we can consider another route. It's just awful seeing her like this and it's totally spoiling this special time.

I'm not even totally sure it is CMPA has her symptoms have barely changed since she's been on the prescription milk. Does anyone have any experience of this condition or the milk? How long did it take you to see improvements? I know there are other milks we could try but I just feel each time she swaps it will make her even more unsettled.
