She is a young single mum going through the terrible 2s and I want to get her something really nice.

Budget?

Not much information there. What are her interests?

DecimatedDreams · 16/06/2022 12:34

A sleepover for the toddler at your place so she gets a break.

That's a great idea but she lives too far away for that.

I know I haven't given much information. I don't really know of any interests. Budget £30-£40

I would give a gift card that can be used in multiple store so she can pick herself something

Riverlee · 16/06/2022 14:18

Something practical. A hamper of nice smelliest, or nice food. Ie. Something practical, but a bit luxurious also.

snowmanshoes · 16/06/2022 14:26

Order her a takeaway with all the extras 😄 (from somewhere she can eat from the containers so no washing up!)

An afternoon tea hamper. There are places that deliver them by post, or a local business that will make them fresh and deliver.

OompaLoompaa · 16/06/2022 15:10

Cash or gift voucher. I was a young mum
and that’s what I would have really appreciated.

I think I'll get her a present and give her some cash too with strict instructions to spend it on herself!

I honestly think cash.
You could waste £40when she really would like to stop worrying about the gas bill.

Good plan, when I was 20 and had a young baby (33 years ago) my best friend gave me £20 and said to treat myself and it was literally the best present ever.

I help her out financially a bit if she needs it anyway. But I'd like her to have something for herself.

I just wanted to say you sound so lovely and kind.

My had my eldest when I was 17 and I will never, ever forget my auntie sending a big box of baby gifts when he was born. Tucked inside the box was a really nice bottle of perfume for me. That gesture meant the absolute world and it's still my favourite scent 15 years later.

You'll never know how much your niece probably appreciates you.

prettylittlethingss · 16/06/2022 23:24

I'm 22 and a young mum. My IDEAL gift would be to have my nails / hair done.

I'd also like
Something for Charlotte Tilbury (if she's into makeup)
ASOS voucher
A piece of jewellery from Abott Lyon (they have a nice initial bracelet for about £30ush)
Revlon heated hair brush
Some nice loungewear from lounge underwear
A nice plant

Hope this helps!
