Please - if at all possible, may I ask you this evening to put out some small bowls/dishes or saucers of water for nocturnal animals such as hedgehogs and rabbits? Also during the day for birds.
It can be a real lifesaver in these dry and hot conditions.
We have a couple of hedgehogs which are visiting our garden from around 10pm until 4am every day at this time of year (they come and go around the neighbourhood). We put a webcam out as we put out food for them (‘Brambles’ brand from Wilko or Amazon). We’ve noticed that they are drinking a lot of water in this dry spell.
Btw; if you have a hedgehog in your garden, please never give it milk as they are lactose intolerant and milk can kill them. Water is best. They also enjoy puppy or kitten food.
