Driving instructor dilemma

I have paid for a course of lessons for DD 17 but she is not really getting on well or making any progress. The instructor is often late to collect her for her lesson and seems disinterested during her lessons. She has had 4 lessons so far. DD has said she hasn’t even gone into 3rd gear yet! Is that normal?!

Today while DD was in her lesson she (the instructor) was scrolling through Facebook on her phone whilst munching on a packet of Maltesers. DD was really nervous about steering and hitting the curbs. Driving instructor just mutters a few thing.

my dilemma is I don’t know how to deal with this - should I confront the driving instructor? Other problem is there are no other instructors in my area that have any availability. What should I do?

Change instructor.

Speak to the instructor and see what she has to say, it could be that your daughter is struggling to pick up the basics and that's why things haven't moved along? I'd definitely ask why she was on her phone on Facebook as she should be completely focused in any lesson, but especially 4 lessons in (I'm a Driving Instructor btw)

Change instructor. The one you have is acting inappropriately and illegally. If they are part of a driving school, complain.

Change instructor even if you have to wait ages

I’d let her mount the curb while the instructor is busy with her maltesers. That might focus the mind.
