Travel from Staines bus station

Sorry just posting for traffic.

I’ll be taking my younger sister to Thorpe park in about two weeks time. We’ll be travelling from Clapham Junction to Staines via train. We’re then hoping to get the bus from Staines Bus station to Thorpe Park.

I’m assuming we can’t use oyster on the bus so am I right in thinking we can just purchase a day ticket from the bus station or something? Or can I pay for both my sister and I via contactless (different cards ofc)? My ignorance is showing here because I never have reason to leave SW London lol. Thank you

I don't live in Staines but all the buses where I live you just pay on the bus with contactless.

WontBeLong · 15/06/2022 15:43

We went last year.pay on the bus single or return fares using contact less card.

I’m so dumb I completely forgot you can go on the bus and ask for a single/return ticket and just pay on the spot with either cash or card. I was assuming you have to buy your tickets beforehand but you can purchase it with the driver

You just tap your contactless card, getting on and off. It’s not far from Staines. When you come out of station there is a foot path that goes into Staines to the bus station.

I live in Staines. The Thorpe Park bus usually departs from the rail station (other side of the line if you are coming from London) and the bus station. There is a information on Thorpe Park website which includes a link to the bus service operator (Sullivan buses).

As pp said, the TP bus goes to and from the station. www.thorpepark.com/plan-your-visit/before-you-visit/directions/

Scroll down and click on the bus link

I’m aware the bus goes too and from TP. I just wanted to know how it works regarding tickets and if you can pay via contactless. I have my answer though so thank you all:)
