To think that covid could cause contraception pill failure?

I'm seeing a lot of threads of people who got pregnant after a covid vaccine, even though on the pill!

So.....does that mean that covid itself is also causing contraceptive pill failures? Anyone had covid and then fallen pregnant despite being on the pill?

(Asking because husband and I dtd whilst I was still positive for covid....12 days later and I'm now feeling very pregnant despite taking the pill! Nothing showing up on pregnancy test but no denying the being sick and veiny sore boobs...🤦‍♀️ no idea what's going on!)

How?

It’s just PMS OP.

Unless COVID made you vomit or have have the shits, I can’t see any correlation.

No. The reason there are so many 'after the Covid vaccine XYZ happened to me' is because a massive percentage of the population have had three jabs spanning across almost a year, so everything that happens to anyone has happened 'after a jab'. It's basically the only time in living memory that so many people have had a vaccine within weeks and months of each other.

Exactly, correlation is not the same as causation. Please dont feed the covid vaccine conspiracy trolls.

No. The only reason that rarely someone gets pregnant despite taking the Pill correctly is if you have vomiting within several hours of taking the pill (3hrs for combined, 2 for Progesterone only) or diarrhoea for more than 24 hours. In these cases you might not absorb the medication. NHS advice on this.

I assume that as people have reported periods arriving at strange times after having Covid or the vaccine, it can disrupt the reproductive cycle. Maybe it stimulates ovulation for some people?
