How much is your Ethnic Food Shop?

Hi everyone

I know that this question has probably been posed sooo many times on the main board but wanted to know from an ethnic perspective how much you family weekly food shopping cost to compare as we all know that in addition to mainstream food items we also buy different staples ie seasonings, meat, palm oil, pounded yam, veg eg okra, plantain, spinach etc which is an additional cost

How many people in your family?

How often are you doing the 'African food shop'?

I often watch'Eat well for less' but have not seen a fully African family who buy similar items to us and wondered whether we are over spending or not

Currently food shop as follows

Asda £20
Lidl around £35
Sainsburys £10
African Food Shop £35 on average (this includes meat, indomi noodles, seasonings, hot peppers, palm oil, egusi etc)

So on average for a family of 4 we are spending £100 pw, does this sound about right, 2 kids are school age, so no nappies etc though shopping includes cleaning items too

Particularly interested in families from black African or Caribbean communities
