Monday/Tuesday right?

So if someone says I’ll get back to you by the beginning of next week that means I should really have heard by now shouldn’t I?

I’m waiting on a potentially life changing bit of news and they said beginning of next week on Friday. I’ve refreshed my emails a million times but nothing yet. Being late/promising something and then not delivering drives me crazy but also my DH thinks I’m totally batshit soooo.

Am I BU or should I have heard back by now?!

Not really a massive AIBU but actually losing my mind so could do with your tardiness tales or something to keep me distracted please!

Depends. What news are you waiting for?

Hugsgalore · 14/06/2022 15:15

I would say by the end of Tuesday is reasonable enough to count as the beginning of the week

RichardOsmansXraySpecs · 14/06/2022 15:16

Yes I’d say it was Monday/Tuesday.
It’s not Wednesday yet though so there’s still time…remember a watched kettle never boils.

For context it’s news that would change my financial situation for the better in a massive way - not a job offer as such but related to work. I can’t say much more as it’s really quite specific but this would quite literally change my family’s life.

For me, the new week begins on Sunday. If you're talking about tradesmen, then I feel that would be Monday.

UsernameNotAvailableApparently · 14/06/2022 15:22

@CrunchyCarrot it would be someone who works Monday - Friday/9-5 kind of thing letting me know so I guess 5pm Tuesday would be past the ‘beginning of the week’

I would expect to know by Tuesday, I think.

Want2beme · 14/06/2022 15:25

I'd say Mon/Tues, possibly pushing into Weds a.m.

Womeninblack · 14/06/2022 15:25

At a push Wednesday… maybe… if they running little behind?

FooFighter99 · 14/06/2022 15:33

Have you checked your junk folder?

MinnieMountain · 14/06/2022 15:37

Wednesday is definitely the middle of the week.

UsernameNotAvailableApparently · 14/06/2022 15:38

@FooFighter99 yep checked all the folders relentlessly. I’ve never felt so much nervous/excited energy before Grin

Damn, I was so hoping you'd found the email in the junk folder 😆

Hope you hear from them soon!!

FooFighter99 · 14/06/2022 15:49

Could they mean next week (w/c 20th)?

They said "beginning of next week" but as they only said it on Friday (10th?) then maybe they meant a whole week later

Sorry, may be clutching at straws a bit, but they've been very ambiguous

UsernameNotAvailableApparently · 14/06/2022 16:16

Oh god I hope not @FooFighter99 - I don’t think my blood pressure can take it.

It’s definitely not looking promising for beginning of this week either way Sad

OP posts:
Irishfarmer · 14/06/2022 16:35

Certainly would have though you'd have heard by now. How annoying!

UsernameNotAvailableApparently · 15/06/2022 10:46

Nothing yet, I’m beginning to think @FooFighter99 is right and they meant beginning of next week (I hope)

Just heard back and it was a big fat no…

Onwards and upwards Sad

RichardOsmansXraySpecs · 20/06/2022 11:26

Well if they can't tell what's the beginning of the week and the end, sod 'em!

Chin up OP.
