My middle child is turning 18 I haven’t planned a thing he’s said he doesn’t want a party we always do a family meal but my mums away and that’s his favourite person,
he’s the kindest sweetest person does charity work for domestic abuse charities gives his weekend up to do this ,
he also goes to college full time and works two jobs he’s got a season ticket for our lowly team how do I make this amazing as he is money isn’t a issue ?

When is your mum back? When is his bday?

ThePoorWeeDonkey · 14/06/2022 03:44

Sorry op, not sure what to suggest but I hope he has a great day. He sounds like a fantastic kid.

bozna · 14/06/2022 03:49

No idea there he sounds Like a better kid than any adult! Maybe he would like a trio or experience, sounds like he deserves a lot for the kid you have raised!

Thomasina79 · 14/06/2022 03:55

What are his interests. My. Much older adult son recently arranged to play on his favourite teams grounds, sat in the players changing rooms, sat in the VIP bit. He had a great time.

what might interest your son?

sashh · 14/06/2022 04:29

He sounds fantastic.

How about cards / letters from family and friends and those he volunteers with? From what you have said I have the impression that would mean more to him than a party.

A flight to a fun place or a cruise. Preferably with a friend or sibling.

honeylulu · 14/06/2022 10:33

Would he like an activity? And then a family meal once your mum is back. You could ask if he wants to do the activity with a friend or two or with family.
My 17 year old loves Go Ape, theme parks, paddle boarding. He doesn't usually fancy family days out but he will come along if we're doing any of those!
Maybe iFly? We haven't done that but my teen is keen on the idea. Depends what yours likes of course!

Bagpuss2022 · 15/06/2022 09:23

We have just come back from Florida he loves theme parks, I think the letters/messages from people is a great one and yes we will do a immediate family meal when my mum comes back
he really is a amazing lad

I’m not sure what level his football team are at but some of the lower ones offer things like ball sponsorship of a match with a meal etc. would he like something like that?
