This happened earlier but it’s bugged me so just seeing what I should have done instead.
I went into my local supermarket after I came out there was a group of women with a pram sat on the bench (green) as I came out with my pram I turned the corner and stood round the side of the shop (red) to wait for the bus, I had just missed my one as I came out and it wasn’t clear if the women on the bench were waiting for a bus as people generally just sit down on that bench after shopping to rest etc also as I said I had just missed my bus and they were
at the bench so would have got on it if they was waiting for it. As I stood at the side and waited another woman and pram approached the bus stop and stood where yellow is, a bus came but it wasn’t my bus and yellow got on it (about 5 buses come to this bus stop)
I overheard the people on the bench say they are waiting for bus x (not my bus) so I moved to the yellow spot to wait for mine after the other pram left. As I’m stood there I can hear the women loudly shouting “she better not dare get on the bus first!” “I just can’t stand people that push in!” “If she gets on first I’m going to say something!” One of the women (one with the pram) then gets up from the bench and walks over and stands side by side next to me with her pram in an intimidating way, one of the other woman then came over and started making a point of saying “don’t let anyone get on in front of you, I’m making sure YOU get on the bus first, I don’t like stuff like this!” I know I should have said something but tbh there was a big group of them and I was on my own and they seemed to be spoiling for a fight as they could have just said “we was waiting first” etc but their whole behaviour was aggressive so I pretended not to hear them (although that was impossible) anyway my bus came first and I got on it so they probably felt stupid after that.
I mean I hate people pushing in also but I’m not sure where else they expected me to stand? By the shop entrance and miss my bus as it’s on a corner so you can’t see whats coming hence why I missed it the first time. They had no idea what bus I was waiting for and could have called me out if it was the one they was waiting for. I stood next to the bus stop and even if we were getting the same bus I would have checked around to see if anyone was getting on it first, so WIBU to stand next to the bus stop to wait for a bus?! Or should I have waited somewhere else weirdly they didn’t say anything about the other woman 😕
