In Pollensa Mallorca at present, cards on table not the resort we would have chose on the island but parents booked and paid for house - gorgeous.

feeling let down by the beaches tho, sorry I know, I know ungrateful cow, but lucky to live mr some of best beaches in uk so high comparison point. Pollensa beach just feels v brits abroad and not overly pretty, also has the main road running along back. Tried a couple in Cala San Vicente, undoubtably prettier and the most lovely swimming water, but heaving. Literally couldn’t get near the water. Lord knows what it’s like in August!

Anywhere else within 45 mins, we have a car, don’t mind driving. Just probably can’t do longer with the DC. We’re big beach people and normally choose places with a choice of lovely spots.

Cala Agulla and Cala Molto are both lovely, about an hour away.

Go further down into puerto pollensa onto pine walk with the most beautiful quiet bays all shaded by the pine trees and with the clear water where you can walk for miles. Avoid the main beach apart from for watersports. you would need to park on the street, no main roads. For directions park near the illa d'or hotel and then walk along pine walk and choose your bay (you'll need your own towels and no beds to hire on most of them)

And you could drive or do a boat trip to Formentor. Take your own picnic though, because it's so isolated the food is expensive. In puerto pollensa, which beach did you go to? Llenaire is often quieter.

Trafficjamlog · 13/06/2022 12:34

Formentor also likely to be crazy busy

Is it an English half term? We normally go at the start of the Scottish holidays - beginning of July - and it's not packed.

^ We quite liked the sand dunes here. I agree with everything you’ve written, btw! I have a relative who lives Formentor but didn’t go there myself. And I wouldn’t bother with Alcudia unless you like miles of featureless flat sand!

No they’re back now @weebarra but potentially some may be doing an extra work and taking a hit on fines.

Thank you people, I’m cross I didn’t just start a thread on here before we came away, I had it on my mind to.

@weebarra currently sat on Tamarells?? My DF thinks it’s called, they normally go to Hotel Pollentia so we’re basically op that.

Might pack up and go down to Pine Walk now 👍👍.

think we can stretch to an hr. Typical google none of the beaches anyone has mentioned came up when I was searching best beaches nr Pollensa!

Sa Calobra is pretty spectacular due to the mountains but not your typical kiddie friendly beach.

Budget permitting how about a boat trip ? We did one and visited lovely coves inaccessible (well, difficult) by car.
could you drive to Soller ? About an hour from Pollensa… I think ??? Very family friendly.
