Sunday Sanding or Sunday Silence?

I am refurbishing a dining table and chairs and need to sand the chairs outside. I sanded the table for 2 hours outside on Friday

It's Sunday but it's 10am. I want to do it today but am conscious it's a Sunday - the supposed day of rest.

Do I:

YANBU: sand today because it's a weekend, no one cares about it being a day of rest and that's when everyone does home stuff, like mowing the lawns or DIY

YABU: sand tomorrow, giving everyone a peaceful Sunday but potentially distrub anyone trying to work from home tomorrow.

Do it today. Long periods of noise are far more annoying on week days now.

Just do your sanding and don't do it for too long.

Do it today- horrendous trying to wfh with outdoor noise going on.

Where do you live? In Germany, such noise would be illegal on a Sunday!

How much more sanding is required? It must be a massive table if 2hrs of sanding already isn't enough! I'd speak to my neighbours and let them know/check they aren't having friends in the garden etc. We get on well though.

The table's done. It the chairs that need doing next.

I'll go as fast as I can but to get a good finish I need to take the existing varnish off then sand with increasing grit levels to smooth the surface. Hence it takes a while.

If it's any consolation to my neighbours - it's a job I hate doing so I shan't be enjoying myself Smile

I would do it, send a text to your neighbours in advance to apologies, stop at lunchtime and maybe finish off in the afternoon if you still need more time.
