Period after norethisterone

I took norethisterone to delay my period as it was due whilst I was on holiday, and I just couldn’t face trying to deal with it whilst by the pool.

I’ve stopped taking it now and my period has arrived. Can I now count today as day 1 of my cycle and expect another period in 30 days from now (which would be normal for me)?

A friend seems to think that my next period will come at the time it would have been due if I hadn’t taken anything to delay and disrupt my cycle. So according to her my next period would start in 14 days from.

Google isn’t helping! Does anyone have any experience? AIBU to expect a normal gap between periods?

I’ve used this and agree that today would be day 1 so your next period would be due in 30 ish days. I found the period after the delayed one was very heavy, so be warned.

Thank you! I’m glad that’s the way it’s going to work because it will make the timing of the next one much more convenient.

Already finding that it’s pretty heavy and hellish so really hoping things are back to normal next time.

Yes, it definitely shifts everything back - your next one will be 30 days from now! Weirdly my period also started today after norethisterone! I’ve taken it quite a few times over the years and find it makes my period slightly heavier but not too bad, and the next one is always back to normal for me.
