Chocolate cysts

Hi all,

I've recently had a chocolate cyst, caused by endo, removed from my groin. However - this wasn't on my ovaries. From what I've read online chocolate cysts tend to form on ovaries.

Has anybody else had a non ovarian chocolate cyst???

Terrified about my fertility with this too. Does anybody have any experience fertility wise after removal of chocolate cyst?

Thank you

I had one removed years ago. 1993 I think. But it was ovarian. I only found out I had it as part of investigation in to infertility problems which uncovered the endometriosis.

Anyway, after the op. I was told that they didn't think I was affected badly enough for that to be the cause of the problem. In fact we never really got to the bottom of it because I was recommended to try IVF which luckily worked first time.

@5foot5

Thank you.
Mine was 5cm - unsure if this is big or not!!

But very confused as it wasn't on my ovaries! However it was an endometrial cyst!
