My previous insurance company made several errors on their forms, which resulted in having to pay an additional £400 ( they upheld my complaint and admitted fault).
I complained and was told that the money will be refunded. They didn't ask what card I wanted it to be refunded onto, and assumed it would be the same card that I used a few months ago but I had since closed that account.
I chased them up and they admitted that they assumed it would be the same account, but I would have to wait for the money to bounce back before they reissue the funds. It's been nearly a month now, and they are saying I have to contact my previous bank to get them to send my insurance company a letter to state it has bounced back. My previous bank is hard to get hold of if you are not a customer.
AIBU for being annoyed that they have firstly made this mistake, and then have done nothing to rectify it. I sent them an email today with an ultimatum to resolve this before I take it up with the financial ombudsman.
