It aims to ban commercial breeding of animals for testing on in laboratories and implement non animal methods.

Animals including dogs are bred for testing. Look at The Camp Beagle on Youtube and tiktok for details of the horrors inflicted upon these poor animals. Please sign. 🙏🏻

Camp beagle breaks me. Those people are incredible. A few of the members of our beagle group have been and stayed with them. Cannot believe they are still shipping out those poor puppies.

You’ll need to get the pharmaceutical regulators to change the law first. Animal testing is a requirement for medicines development. Other methods and tools are in development and being used to as much of a degree as possible but while it’s a regulatory requirement there’s no point in a petition targeting breeders, the animals unfortunately have to come from somewhere. Almost all are rats and mice, there are also very small numbers of dogs and primates.

How do you plan to replace animals in the development of medicines, in such a way as to still ensure that said medicines are safe for use?

Theres other things that need changing first im afraid.

If we do not have testing labs here.. they will exist anyway, just elsewhere, where animal welfare laws are not as good, where regulations are far less strict.

Effectively you won't stop animal testing - you will simply stop it happening HERE, thats all and that is NOT a good thing.

We need viable replacements for animal testing and for those to be the gold standard first.. then, and only then, will animal testing be something we can get rid of.

So are you okay with not having safe medications etc? I assume that you are vegan. Dogs are not more important than cows, pigs, chickens etc. It is far more important to have safe medicines than to eat animals & dairy. As ever the human hypocrites will be out to cry over a puppy whilst tucking into their meaty dinner.

I'm a little late to this thread. I only recently heard about Camp Beagle from a friend of mine who is a member of Animal Rebellion. She is extremely brave, and was part of the group from AR who liberated five beagles. She was fully prepared to go to prison for it, to raise awareness and further the cause. But the cruel bastards people in charge of the facility, chose not to pursue the matter, as they didn't want the publicity.
I've signed a couple of petitions, I'll check to see if this was one of them.
OP it may be worth sharing this in the vegan topic. I'm a vegan, and most, if not all, vegans are opposed to animal testing.
The thought of those poor creatures suffering alone, never having seen daylight, breaks my heart 😔
