I've been trying for weeks to get an appointment, phew!

Still have one going through the normal process (think it's 12 weeks and counting) but seems like things are improving)

Hi everyone!
I sent off for my daughters passport renewal 7 weeks ago. 5 weeks ago I was asked to send my daughters birth certificate (I’m not married and because my partner sent the application we had to prove parental responsibility) 5 weeks on and I’m still receiving emails and a letter saying send your documents (birth certificate) the certificate was delivered signed for first class so I know it’s there. Has anyone had this happen and then the passport is processed? I’ve sent emails, phoned numerous times to find out what’s going on but no one is getting back to me!

Hi can anyone tell me what time the appointments went up. I have been trying at all hours with no luck.

@MorePassportWoes Hi can you tell me how long you were online before you found appointments and what time of day you tried. I am getting so stressed trying to get an appointment, I tried just after midnight but no luck and all times of day, just wondering if I need to try in the night, someone suggested 2am!

I've been going in and out and just got through

OMG you're a gem, the message suddenly changed to system busy, I kept refreshing and got through, appointments Thursday/Friday in Glasgow, miles from me not sure what to do so tried on my phone and 2 appointments popped up in London so booked one quickly. Thank you so much I have been so stressed.

So pleased I could help, I understand the stress.

For others if you book an appointment you can change location up to two days before the date so worth booking and then trying to change.

@MorePassportWoes Thanks to you our family are now able to visit us this summer. They'd been checking endlessly but couldn't find any slots, even checking in the middle of the night. I went on after seeing one of your messages and found appointments available for every day of the following week, including appointments all day for one day. Their passport will be with them next week.

There's a genius Twitter feed called 'Tweets when UK passport service is
online'. It checks the website every minute and automatically tweets when appointments become available - I got one within a day of realising we needed it. 1 week appointments seem to be released from 3-4 in the afternoon based on recent tweets, premium fast track varies. Highly recommend!

@steppingout that is genius, I wish I knew about that before I got my appointment, mine was old fashioned click and refresh.
