My toddler, no. A violent stranger, yes.

Whats the context, kids, adults, self defence, unprovoked attack. Any injury, do you need medical help.

It depends. Was it on purpose or an accident? Someone over the age of 10? Is there a bruise, ie evidence? Is there likely to be cctv - petrol station, town centre or someone's back garden.

If an accident or a kid then no. If it was an adult with malice then absolutely yes. I reported someone to the police the other day for spitting on me which is also considered an assault.
