To be annoyed at sister?

So I mentioned to my sister about the new 4DX cinema experience and I said we should go watch Jurassic World etc - mentioned it twice.

Then my niece just happened to mention that she’s seeing it with her mum (my sister) and dad this weekend and they’ve booked tickets.

Now I don’t care if they’re all going if that’s what they want, what I do care about is that my sister instead of being honest of having no intention of going with me she just stays quiet and hopes I’ll forget.

Yes, that's quite annoying. Does she have form for this sort of thing?

how did she respond both times you suggested it?

Well maybe she didn't say anything as she was going to see it with you too but didn't want to let on she had seen it before.

I went to see Downton with a friend but had seen it a couple of days previous as I was so excited to see it. I didn't mention it to my friend as I didn't want to diminish our experience of seeing it together.

If she's simply ditching you then YANBU.

There’s a difference between

’we should go see x when it comes out’

and ‘shall when see X when it comes out, when are you are free. Shall I book the tickets?’

Maybe your sister just thought you were making vague plans that weren’t going to come to anything

If you mentioned it twice and she just kept quiet, do you not think it was a strong indication that she didn't want to go with you?
