Has anyone ever successfully re lactated ?

I've taken time off breastfeeding due to some personal issues. I took a break three weeks ago. Baby is now 6 weeks. I still expressed milk some of the days and I still seem to have milk. Baby seems happy to latch back on and his mouth is bigger now. Has anyone successfully re lactated ? Is there any point ? I was always combination feeding anyway before I took a break. Is combination feeding worth it for the baby and for the mother?

Let your baby nurse as much as possible and express in between and you'll be fine if there's still milk

Yes.
Agree with the above advice..
I build it right up again having dwindled it down to one feed when the HV told me I'd done enough and should stop altogether.
My baby was five months at the time.
I continued until he was a year old.

Yes I did, I had emergency surgery when dd was 3 weeks old and couldn't feed her for over a week. All the Drs told me not to bother trying to relactate but I'm quite stubborn!

I just put her to the boob as much as possible and also expressed a bit. She needed top ups for around another three or four weeks but by the time she was 3 months old I was exclusively breastfeeding again.

It can definitely be done.

It feels different now he's bigger.. I was never exclusively feeding anyway. I just couldn't get my supply to the point that he was satisfied at all. I would just feed for hours and hours. But I suppose I can give it a go.

Is combination feeding worth it ? He's still happy to latch on. I feel like if he wants it then I can try.

Speak to a Lactation Consultant. I did and it was the best decision as there is a lot of incorrect information online and from well meaning friends/family members.
Good luck!

It's possible especially very early on but doesn't happen for everyone.
I tried to relactate after 2-3 months of just pumping when my milk supply was dwindling, unfortunately 6 weeks later with much fenugreek etc and on and off the boobs day and night it just wasn't happening.
I had milk in the mornings but once my breasts were drained there was nothing and i never got my milk back up, also it was much harder as by then my DS wanted more milk than I could produce. :(

If you do attempt to relactate I would think it's best to do it early on and also maybe get some help from the Dr's, as I know they can give you medication to boost milk supply.
