To think that non free range smells different to free range chicken?

Particularly if it’s cooked and on the bone.
To me, free range just smells of chicken. Non free range smells how I imagine cooked plastic would smell with a hint of Paxo stuffing. As it’s only bone in that I smell the difference with, I’m guessing I’m smelling the heated bone.
DP thinks I’m being ridiculous and making it up/ or self fulfilling prophecy. Am I being ridiculous?
Does anyone have any other food smell conundrums?
