How much to spend on a child’s birthday gift?

My daughter will be attending a child’s 3rd birthday party this weekend. It’s the first party she’ll be going to and I have no idea what to spend as a gift for the birthday girl?

Is a £5 gift too cheap? Is £10 the minimum? What about gift cards, would that be seen as ok?

£5-£10 is fine- someone once got me a toy shop gift card of £5- i found it unhelpful as I had to top up the amount. I would rather a book/ make it kit from the works.
Bday cards- get 5 for a £1 from the card factory and a roll of cheap paper.

£5 is fine.
Anywhere between £5 and £10 is the norm.

Yep agree between £5-10.

I'd say £10 rather than buying a voucher I'd be very tempted to give cash then no restrictions on where it can be spent, money can be put together and less hassle than vouchers.
