To ask how you handle income?

DH and I have always had our own accounts and we would like our disposable income to remain in our own accounts to use as we wish, however, we have decided that going forward it would probably be most sensible to open an account for all household bills to come out of, including an allowance for food shopping in there. There are just so many direct debits though! How would we go about this? Phoning up and changing accounts on all DD, and then setting a standing order into that account?
How do you organise this in your households?

Joint account we both pay the same amount into to cover household bills, food, holidays etc and we keep our own accounts. I earn more so pay for most of the kids expenses from my account.

Open a joint account and move everything over. You can often change accounts for DD online, no need to phone.
