I have lived in current home 10 years, never an issue with mice until a few years ago new neighbours moved in and done some renovations. Suddenly heard mice in attic, could see a hole in their boiler house so brought in to their attention while they were doing works.. claimed never to hear a thing ( young family) and haven't had any issues. We closed the hole up for them in boiler house . Since this time we have had mice on and off for 5 years in roof cavities , wall cavities but thankfully to date we have never had them loose in rooms etc. We have spent a fortune on professionals and poison/ traps who say they must just be coming from next door as all our potential inlets have been treated. Our neighbours just don’t give a care, any time we have raised it they say they have never heard a mouse in their house and don’t have poison / traps down. Look blankly at us. When we suggested could the vermin people who we pay for look around their house for inlets.. said no, not necessary.
IT IS DRIVING ME BONKERS, after a Flurry of killing and catching lots in traps and loads of poison they go away for a few months ( 2-3) and then back again. Sitting in living room, in kitchen etc can hear them overhead during the day.
am I unreasonable to be so cross about the fact the neighbours don’t care?! Is their anything I can do? I find it so hard to believe that there is not a mouse somewhere in their house- considering how many we have had and the houses are attached.
any wonderful mice catching success stories please share !
