So I am off to Download on Saturday for the day (and eve). Last time I went I wore wellies which was definitely the correct footwear! I put my wellies on today and they LEAK!! So, lovely peeps of MN, please please give me your suggestions for comfy either cheap or mid-range priced wellies (budget won't stretch to Lake Land or Hunter's) that I can buy in time for Friday eve! Thank you 🙏

I bought 1 of the kids Cotswold wellies from Amazon. She loves them. Decent price (£30ish) comfy and delivered next day! Not trendy though 😂

CarrieMoonbeams · 05/06/2022 18:10

I have the Joules Colette ones, they're £80 but if you're a new customer you can get 20% off. Might not be worth it if you don't need to wear them often, but I love mine and wear them regularly. They're so comfortable.

KittensWearingWoollyMittens · 05/06/2022 18:11

@poorbuthappy do they do adult sizes? I am size 7 😊

poorbuthappy · 05/06/2022 18:12

I think so! She's a 4 so not teeny kids sizes.

User82517 · 05/06/2022 18:13

Shoezone, cheap and cheerful. Got some flowery ones a few years ago for a wedding in a field and they're still going strong.

poorbuthappy · 05/06/2022 18:13

Just search Cotswold wellies

Dunlop. About £15 on Amazon. Not cool though.

PeaceLily2000 · 05/06/2022 18:14

I got the ankle height Joules wellies at the end of last year and they are great.
About £40 I think and really comfy with a removable furry insole. Also got them from Next online so next day delivery.

KittensWearingWoollyMittens · 05/06/2022 18:15

Thank you @poorbuthappy I shall take a look pronto! 😊

Decathlon had loads when I was in one of their stores the other day

KittensWearingWoollyMittens · 05/06/2022 18:18

Thank you to everyone who has posted so far. I am taking a look atm. Other than being leak-proof I am looking at comfort as the other important quality they must have, as I will be on my feet All day and probably most of the evening 👍

I love my Joules wellibobs!

Dunlop. About £15 on Amazon. Not cool though.

Not cool, maybe, but apparently indestructible.

I bought mine when I lived in Croydon, which makes them at least 31 years old. I still wear them every winter. Fuck knows what they're made of, but I reckon in another millennia or two, archaelogists will be digging up Dunlop wellies, still intact.

My SIL likes Joules wellies, she's never yet got 2 full winters out of a pair.

HelenaJustina · 05/06/2022 18:41

Dunlop are sold at our local farm stores (where they really know their wellies) and the DC ones from there are so hard wearing. No colours other than olive green but as @LakieLady says, completely indestructible.

I have muck boots from the Original Muck Boot company and although they are hugely heavy, I love them with all my heart as they are warm!

Hunters are shit now anyway apparently. Mine are over 10 years old and going strong (wore mine to Download and they survived System of a Down) but I've heard they split easily.

When these die I'm getting Dunlops - DH's are brilliant.

KittensWearingWoollyMittens · 05/06/2022 19:14

Are the Dunlop ones comfortable to be in all day and evening?

Muck boots. They are £££ and I’d probably go for a cheaper pair if you only need them for a day or so but they are leakproof, warm, comfortable and supportive.

AperolWhore · 05/06/2022 19:31

Scrap wellles and go for a pair of Dublin River boots! Your feet will thank you x

These are the wellies I have found comfiest too wear. My husband has the mens version and has dog walked for hours through the winter in them no problems.

Purplepepsi · 05/06/2022 19:47

Decathlon are amazing. The ones with no lining so you can just wipe them out if they get wet over the top! With the insoles.

asprinklingofsugar · 05/06/2022 19:57

Joules Molly wellies!! So comfy - I’ll never wear another brand. Worth checking their sale section as they may have some available from the last couple seasons at a reduced price

TheHateIsNotGood · 05/06/2022 20:04

If it's only One Day then maybe stick some plastic bags over your socks then put on your wellies.

Or, get any cheap welly in your local shops that fit on your feet, with thick socks on. If you needed to wear your wellies often my advice might be different.

From past experience Dunlop wellies come up quite big so just get some really cosy welly socks to wear in them 😀
