So I have been plagued by what appears to be oral thrush for months now. Law of sod and it is back at start of BH weekend.
Last time I was told I needed to get a Swab to confirm thrush.
NHS direct say see someone in 3 days and suggested pharmacy. Well pharmacy would only treat it which won't help. Than suggested walk in but cannot confirm they can take swab and its an hour round trip away so I really need to know journey not wasted. Wait will be horrendous so given number to ring. It cuts off.
So don't know whether to put up with it and hope it doesn't clear or risk wasting time an fuel on 30 mile round trip.
Never easy is it?

Personally I'd treat it with over the counter stuff today and worry about a swab if it comes back again.

Hankunamatata · 03/06/2022 09:15

Surely easier to treat now and then get a swab if it returns.

Why does it keep coming back though ? Are you having frequent antibiotics or giving oral sex to people with thrush ?
Id be looking for other causes of a sore mouth, and I think low levels of some vitamins is a cause.

@kangaroo Doctors are looking at that. In past past they always blamed my inhaler but I stopped using it. I was supposed to have further bloods when I get swab done.
@Hankunamatata thank you such a difficult decision. Really want answers so I suppose I want swab done to confirm ASAP and bloods. Just typical timing.
No intercourse of any type right now but they do still need to fo HIV test.
