Trying to book with on the beach and can’t get through to the checkout?

We’ve added everything we want and click on ‘go to checkout’ and it starts to say updating and then won’t do anything. Stays on the same page.

does this mean the holiday has sold out? Surely it would then say no longer available? Really frustrating. If anyone has any idea why it’s doing this, please let me know.

Please, please save yourself the heartache - like a fool I did it myself instead of simply booking direct and I've found it literally impossible to contact them in any way. Phones aren't answered (there wasn't even a queueing system), emails aren't replied to and when they reserve your requests with providers they use their own email and references so you can't even contact the providers to sort things yourself

I'm due to go next week, and it's been so bad that I'm dreading getting there and finding the hotel haven't been paid Hmm

They add on 25% - book direct

you can see who the flights are with and then book accommodation -

Easy to book airport transfers as well - and cheaper.

Make sure you have airline failure insurance as part of your holiday insurance and spend the extra money on food and drink.

YABU to put this in AIBU

Be grateful.

We’ve always used a travel agent before so this is quite different for us to book. Not that it’s letting us anyway! 🤣. Guess we will have to go back to a travel agent. I wouldn’t know where to start with booking it directly!

I wouldn’t know where to start with booking it directly

Booking.com or a hotel's website for the accommodation and the airlines' own pages for the flights?
It's no great trouble, but I just thought "Oh, this once let someone else do it - it might be even easier"

I was wrong Hmm

Book directly via Jet2 holidays, wouldn't recommend TUI at the moment 😱
I've booked the majority of my holidays in the past 10 years via Jet2 and no problems whatsoever!

On the beach are cheap (compared to tour operators - but the thing is, they are not a tour operator); and I find their website very good for navigating and finding the best deals.

But I would then always just take a note of the details and book it all direct - flights, accommodation, transfers. Job done.

As pp's have said, customer service is non existent. They don't answer their phones.

You are literally paying for nothing. When you "checkout" with them, your holiday is "reserved" whilst they go into the market and try to buy it. If the price has increased during this time, you will have to pay the extra.

Finally, they are not a tour operator. Meaning if something goes wrong on your holiday, you are on your own. They won't help in any way.

And that is basically what you are paying for with Tui / Jet2 and the likes.

So really, you can pay the extra for that peace of mind, or you can do it yourself for cheaper, but you might have an issue if something goes wrong on your holiday.

I have used on the beach before many times and generally it's been fine, but one year there were issues and it was a nightmare.
