For wedding anniversary number one?

What would you get? Did you get? Shall I get?

I love origami. We only have a small home. If you have a wonderful suggestion please share.

A voucher for a dinner for 2 or cinema tickets?

Not origami, but still paper.

Neveranynamesleft · 02/06/2022 22:55

A book ?

Actually a good idea I had not thought about!! I never know what to buy him as he's more organised and I'm more haphazzard. He buys me expensive things and I have less money so buying a voucher for something expensive is actually perfect. OMG thank you so much.

We had our first anniversary recently and my dh got me a paper rose from not on the high street. I love it.

eleanoreleanoreleanor · 02/06/2022 22:56

A photo of the place where we met! Dh bought me tickets to our favourite band which I loved!

LondonMaybe · 02/06/2022 22:57

Tickets to something, like a london show and add in the hotel etc for a weekend if you want a “big” present. Tickets are paper

rachelvbwho · 02/06/2022 22:58

For ours I bought my husband a poster and he bought me a paper version of my wedding bouquet! It is one of my most prized possessions now and genuinely the BEST gift he has ever got me ❤

nearlyspringyay · 02/06/2022 22:58

I think I got him or he got me a paper from the day of our wedding. Never been seen since!

MustardCress · 02/06/2022 23:02

A pop up book? sort of origami and paper!?! And easy to store and keep safe

probablysaferoutdoors · 02/06/2022 23:16

These are all really lovely suggestions, thank you.

We agreed a £10 budget as we went away for the weekend for our first anniversary. I can’t remember what I got him, possibly a photo collage but he got me a beautiful art print of silhouette of a couple kissing in the rain. It’s in our dining room and I look at it every day.

TheMagicPudding · 02/06/2022 23:25

I got my husband cufflinks that were paper airplanes! He's not the type who would enjoy/appreciate anything 'cutesy' but he loved these and was an 'outside the box' take on something paper 🙂

AnneButNotHathaway · 03/06/2022 06:38

Could it be a portrait that's framed? Or a scrapbook with printed photos and small things like tickets or notes or whatever you have from your dates or trips? Here are also some ideas for an anniversary video and you can use paper styled backgrounds for the slides!

SunshineAndFizz · 03/06/2022 06:46

My husband gave me a little box containing 12 pieces of folded paper - on each one he'd written a 'date' for us to do (one a month for the year ahead).

Things like 'cinema date - your choice of movie' or 'meal cooked by me' and there were a couple of bigger things too like 'surprise night away'.

Cyclingforcake · 03/06/2022 06:48

I got my husband an OS map with our wedding venue in the centre. Promised I’d get it framed for our wood anniversary!

husbandcallsmepickle · 03/06/2022 06:48

For our first anniversary I was broke so made a word art picture which DH loved. He bought me a copy of the newspaper from the day I was born.

totallybonafido · 03/06/2022 06:49

DH made me something like this, it wasn't that hard.

I made my husband a folded book of his favourite book (night in charity shop) and bought the folding pattern online. Heart is one of the easiest but you can get all sorts of words and pictures. It's easier than it looks to do.

My DH bought me this framed train ticket - the beauty being that, once its on the wall, there is no forgetting our anniversary date! www.notonthehighstreet.com/oflifeandlemons/product/personalised-train-ticket-print?cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=16829764496&cq_term=&cq_plac=&cq_net=x&cq_plt=gp&DGMKT=FID__TID__PID_367550_CRI_&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItvCHqdSQ-AIVuIBQBh37eQOLEAQYBSABEgIkf_D_BwE

JakeyRolling · 03/06/2022 08:19

I got DH a print of a sound wave of our first dance song. Had it printed in our wedding colour.

PurBal · 03/06/2022 08:21

I think I gave DH tickets and he bought me some original art.

Lonecatwithkitten · 03/06/2022 08:23

DH keeps lots of notes - books of them. He is a huge Harry Potter Fan so I bought him a leather bound Harry Potter note by moleskin.

Mammyloveswine · 03/06/2022 10:37

Oh god I was 9 months pregnant on our anniversary so I think we just got each other a card (paper) and we went for a pub tea!

Our second we stayed in a fancy hotel with Egyptian cotton sheets (cotton for second anniversary!). Was lush!

HerbivorousRex · 03/06/2022 11:44

I’m getting DH an antique map of the place where we got married (he collects old maps).
I’m also folding up 12 pieces of paper with an activity for every month of the next year (although we’ll have a 3 month old baby so the activities might just involve watching TV and sleeping 😂)

He’s getting me our wedding album and an illustration of our wedding venue.

Train tickets for a day out, or plane tickets for a weekend away if you can splash out. Maybe with a paper guidebook to your destination too.
