To eat butter on its own?

Does anyone else eat butter on its own? Salted, obviously. It's so delicious.

YANBU. Unsalted is also lovely Smile so creamy.

Mount2Climb · 02/06/2022 15:20

I do and so do my children. It's delicious and actually a tsp is not that calorific at all. If you're drinking and want to keep a flat stomach but don't want to get too drunk eat 2 tbsp of butter, salted preferred.

PurpleButterflyWings · 02/06/2022 15:22

EWW! Gross! No thanks. Sounds revolting. 😱

TrickorTreacle · 02/06/2022 15:23

Butter on its own?

BAN!

Laiste · 02/06/2022 15:23

YANBU

I LOVE butter!

I always nick a bit of oxo cube to eat when i'm cooking with them as well!
😝

Laiste · 02/06/2022 15:25

DD4 and DH like a sneaky buttered chip!

Makes it sound as if we are all overweight in our house but somehow we're not!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 02/06/2022 15:26

Have you tried marmite butter? I don't even like marmite and it's the food of Gods!!

Mount2Climb · 02/06/2022 15:28

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor I adore marmite and butter on hot toasted bread!! Sometimes I add sliced tomatoes, salt and pepper mmmm butter makes everything better

Readtheroom · 02/06/2022 15:33

this should be reported and the OP banned. toast and butter is yum but not butter on its own

RyanAirVeteran · 02/06/2022 15:33

There is only one butter in the world.

My great grandma used to give us a cube of butter as a treat when we were younger!

DontBlameMe79 · 02/06/2022 15:43

Yep love it. Pouring double cream over ice cream so it freezes then crunching it is another one.

Iwanttenofthose · 02/06/2022 15:50

I'll never forget leaving a butter dish with the top off on the counter when my dd was about 4. Came back to neat little tooth marks around all the edges of the butter.

dottiedodah · 02/06/2022 15:50

I love it yes .Dad would cut a cube off for me when I was small .Loved it then an now .

Romeoalpha · 02/06/2022 15:53

Ooooh this!

I love a swig of cold milk while i've got chocolate in my mouth.

Normally the idea of people eating and drinking at the same time revolts me, but this combo is lovely :)

Sisisimone · 02/06/2022 16:02

I thought I was the only one who did this 🤣
Guilty pleasure

Tiny bit of marmite and whisk into salted butter or normal butter, with a but of sea salt, honestly it's AMAZING ( especially on home made focaccia!)

Amazing! Thank you for this tip!

tiedyetie · 02/06/2022 16:12

How is it vile?

It's basically mild cheese

xxxGirlCrushxxx · 02/06/2022 16:12

i'm not sure about this...i meant could try but not sure

LakeTiticaca · 02/06/2022 16:16

No absolutely NOT!! It needs to be spread thickly on freshly baked, uncut WHITE bread!!!!

KarrotKake · 02/06/2022 16:22

DS2 would (does!). He also likes to "check" the ingredients when I bake. He usually wanders off after butter, sugar, and creamed butter/sugar....
Personally, I prefer it thickly spread on white bread or presliced toast.

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 02/06/2022 16:23

YESSS!!! I love butter. Dangerously so.

You know that scene on bride wars where the butter basket gets delivered, it's like heaven.

CheesyChipsOnWembleyWay · 02/06/2022 16:24

Aldi West Country salted butter. Dangerously good.
