Okay ladies help me out. Need to make up my mind :)
Choices
Vauxhall Mokka
Kia Ceed
Vw Golf
Looking for automatic, low cost, not too big engine, me and two kids car seats. Ulez. Budget +- 7k 2012-2013 year.

Any Mokka driver's? Happy or not? Or Nissan juke better? Can't afford quashquai 😦
Ceed? Seems spacious car but is Kia reliable?
Golf I just like them 🤭 but for my budget they're quiet old"ish.

Any other offers ? Not too keen on Fords or Corsas or older cars than 2012!
Need your wisdom ladies!

Wouldn't touch a Vauxhall with a bargepole, I had one in my teens and it was very unreliable, DB has had one more recently which also had strange electrical faults and broke down on the motorway.

I had a Kia Ceed Sportswagon, had it written off in an accident and changed to a Citroën C4. I switched back to Kia within a year. I have never had any problems with Kia, I do a lot of driving and have 3 children, they have plenty of space are good on mileage and definitely reliable.

Dd has a Kia Ceed.. Been a brilliant car!!

Kia or VW from those choices. Definitely avoid Nissan or Vauxhall. Work in the motor trade and the most issues we have are with Qashqais, Jukes and Insignias. Kia will be better value for money than VW, but the Golf auto DSG gearbox is superb. If you're considering VW with that budget I would look at Seat or Skoda instead, as they're basically the same cars but more for your money with those brands. Seat Ibiza or Leon, or Skoda Octavia or Rapid maybe?

Assuming you need a car, agree Kia or VW of those you list.

boniobiscuit · 01/06/2022 20:40

I had a Mokka as a hire car for a weekend - it was horrid. Honestly, do yourself a favour and strike it off your list.

Bluevelvetsofa · 01/06/2022 20:49

I liked my Kia Ceed. Not as much as my Skoda Kamiq though.

Watto1 · 01/06/2022 20:53

Have you considered a Suzuki Vitara? I’ve been a Suzuki devotee for years. Very reliable and I feel you get more for your money than with a lot of other makes.

Another vote for the Kia Ceed. Had one a few years back and really liked it. it had heated seats, might have been the sport model? Nice to drive, good boot, looked decent enough.

RibNSaucyArseCrack · 01/06/2022 21:36

I’d rather stick my head through a wall then drive a Vauxhall again!
my Juke was ace but too small for 2 kids. It’s honestly tiny inside.
out of those I’d get a Kia.

if you can afford it, get an audi.

GreatCuppa · 01/06/2022 21:40

I would never buy a Vauxhall.

How about a Hyundai? I love our i20.

SofiaSoFar · 01/06/2022 21:41

I would go for the Golf, but then I'm biased because I like them too.

One thing to bear in mind is that Golfs often don't come with a lot of extras as standard, so worth looking at what options are fitted to any you look at.

ChorleyFMcominginyourears · 01/06/2022 22:05

I've driven a lot of different cars for work and I have to say that kia was always my favourite, so much so I have my own kia now and have never had an issue with it and the 7 year warranty is fab!
