Got sciatica, its horrendous, currently on 70 mg, of Amitryptaline
I've been given Gabapentin but been told to come off Amitryptaline slowly before I start it, cut down by 20mg the past two nights but have woken up unable to go to work as I can barely put weight on my leg
My thinking is to take the gabapentin while I'm cutting down
I cant take this pain much longer and I'm worried it'll affect my job
Any suggestions for miracle cures appreciated too

Wondering how you got on with the pain/medication. I’m struggling hugely with same. Have a degenerative neck/lumbar spine issue and fibrous diagnosis.

I’m at my wits end with pain.

The only cure is either surgery or spinal injection. But you won't even get an MRI to diagnose the condition until 8 weeks have passed and then you'll be waiting a long time. If you can afford £350 get a private MRI done and take that to the dr. I spent six months on the sofa unable to walk last year with sciatica, i lost my job because of it. I tried every drug available, nothing really worked. What did work was surgery. I had it done in a private hospital paid for by the nhs. I'm almost back to normal now (had the surgery in November)
