To have expected more from Ocado?

My first ever delivery from them (and only used as I needed next day delivery for certain item as we’re going away)

They came an hour early and I was in the bath so not ideal. Then he brought the bags in and said yeah be careful there’s water on them … they were dripping wet (all over the floor!) because there had been a leak in the van.

All the packet stuff was ruined by the water and one was part of a present I was given and looks absolutely battered.

I thought Ocado would be better than that? Or am I being too precious? First world issues I know.

Usually they are way better than that. Call them and explain, I bet they will refund you for the wet items. If you explain it’s your first order and not a great start, it might help, but they are normally really good IME, so this probably isn’t needed.

Go into your accoiunt and claim a refund on anything that's ruined.

Other than being pricey and not having many items on the website the deliveries themselves have always been fine.

HappyAsASandboy · 01/06/2022 01:02

The app is really easy to enter refund requests for damaged things, and the money is credited very quickly IME.

Did the driver call before he delivered early? They normally call and ask if you'd like an early delivery rather than just turning up early.

Deliveries are normally really good for us. I suppose a leak could happen in any van, though the driver should have warned you before it dripped on your floor.

Ocado are always the worst for turning up early. So much so that I don't book them if time is tight, as they can often arrive an hour early.

Their customer service is great and I'm sure they'll compensate and refund.

It’s not even really a bout compensation, I just needed that item to not to wet and therefore ruined as I can’t give it as a gift now.
