Not sure which role to go for?

  1. ECT (NQT) teaching role on equivalent of M1 £25714. Through an agency so weekly pay but option to become permanent after 12 weeks if needed so same contract, conditions etc.
Teaching in a secondary school. I'll be on about £480 a week net through agency i think. Full time teaching, 8am-4pm and possibly a bit extra.
  1. EFL teacher role, approx 30 hours of teaching time, then outside prep time I imagine, £13.75 an hour. Think prep time is included in hourly rate, only contact hours paid.
Teaching medium-small ish classes of both children and adults. Monday to Friday office hours.

Not really sure what to do. Both are appealing in different ways. Job 1 pays more, but don't want to end up doing ridiculous hours. I don't imagine the prep for job 2 will be too strenuous. Need to decide ASAP.

Very lucky to have 2 options, even 1!

The things I would say against the agency work is that, if you go to a school who want you to become permanent, it will cost them 15-20% of your salary to keep you which if they don't have a huge budget, would be a negative. Also how will your ECT training happen if you are working for an agency.
There are still lots of jobs around especially now that the resignation deadline has passed, have you given up on a permanent full time role?
