Feeling absolutely lousy

I am posting here for traffic because I didn't get a response on the Covid thread. I test positive on a lateral flow yesterday and again today. Am supposed to go on holiday tomorrow and paid for a pcr test in order that I can claim my insurance. The girl only put the swab up my nose, not throat. I am worried it will come back negative because firstly I feel awful and secondly I couldn't go on a plane and possibly infect vulnerable people. Is my test likely to come back positive. For info i have taken three lateral flows now which came up straight away with a very thick red line.

If I had had three positive lateral flows and felt ill, I wouldn't fly even if the PCR came back negative. It is frustrating though, to think that you might lose money because the test wasn't administered properly! It's very possible that your pcr will be positive though. You're clearly infected and a nose swab should be enough.

Sorry, but 3 positive lateral flow tests is definite. I can't see any reason why the pcr should be negative.

It's awful that you have to cancel the holiday but I hope you get your money back from your insurance.

I'm really hoping for a positive test to claim the insurance. They said that or a Doctor's Certificate, which no doctor will provide for me.

I have regular PCR tests for work and for the last few months they have all been nose swabs only.
