Contact your local police and ask

No, doesn't work like that I'm afraid, they won't be able to just tell you if he is wanted. You can give them information on what you've heard about when/where he might be coming back incase he is wanted and they can do what they will with that information.

I will never understand why so many people think the Police will just tell any Tom, Dick or Harry this sort of information. If it were possible to just ring and ask, and be told that info, I could find out if my mate Dave is wanted, then tell him that the police are after him so he could just avoid being arrested Hmm

Depends on the country. In the US the FBI wanted list is publicly available.

If he went through the full immigration procedures to move to another country it’s likely he doesn’t have an active warrant. That would have been picked up at the time. When I emigrated to the US I had to have a police records search done for every country I had lived in since the age of 18. Any active warrants would have been the end of the road.

If he’s a national of the country he’s moved to then it’s trickier as no searches would have been done prior to the move.
