Any effective alternatives to Botox?

Whatagoodplacetobe · 30/05/2022 17:35

I have faint 11 lines but it's the ones around my eyes that bother me most, despite only being early 30s.
I've had Botox before and enjoyed the effect but I can't afford £150 every 4 months.
Does anybody know a less expensive but effective treatment?
I had microneedling recently, and was told I'd see 'glowing skin' after 3/4 weeks but honestly can't see a difference.
I doubt anti wrinkle creams will make much difference

Unfortunately not in my experience, no.

Animallover87 · 30/05/2022 18:11

No, nothing works like botox!

TheNeverEndingOver · 30/05/2022 18:13

No - if there was we’d all
know about it!

OlympicProcrastinator · 30/05/2022 18:14

Sadly, there is absolutely nothing that comes close to the effects of Botox in eliminating wrinkles. Months of retinol at night will definitely help, but not comparable still. Sorry OP.

mycatisannoying · 30/05/2022 18:15

Nope. What I will say though, is that £150 is very reasonable!

Viviennemary · 30/05/2022 18:17

I read about some sort of threading procedure once as being the new facelift. I'm too scared to try botox as I might end up looking worse than before. But I am always interested in new cosmetic treatments.

£150 is good value. £37.50 a month?

The eye area is so hard to target. Any other treatments would be even more expensive than that. And creams won’t have much impact on eyes.

NellesVilla · 30/05/2022 18:20

Hi @Whatagoodplacetobe , I know I’m missing the point of the thread but where on earth did you get it this cheap? I ‘treated’ myself to a bit the other day and it was nearly double the cost for a tiny bit in 3 x areas!

And if anyone can recommend someone who will do tear trough fillers, please let me know or DM me! Thanks; my lovely lady doesn’t do this!

Delatron · 30/05/2022 18:20

You could just stretch it out and have it every 6 months?

Carbaholic876 · 30/05/2022 18:41

Thanks, I guess I'll have to accept that sadly nothing works as well. It is good value per se, I just meant it's difficult to afford on top of my other monthly outgoings

cottagegardenflower · 30/05/2022 18:48

Frowneze are actually very effective for small lines, and used regularly the overall lines are reduced and look better. there are plastic type strips that work in a similar fashion. worth trying before going down the botox route as it lasts around 3 months and is much more expensive

Thedogshouses · 30/05/2022 18:51

No

Naunet · 30/05/2022 19:11

I don’t think so OP. You could try a good quality retinol, that will help a bit, but its still expensive. Some people swear by face yoga, there’s a woman I've seen on YouTube that does some free videos, maybe worth a try?!
