AIBU to print my Passport Application at home

I need to renew my UK passport asap.

Can’t currently get to a post office. Everyone I have asked have come back empty handed. I need an application form for the one week service. Is it unreasonable of me to try and print it at home. I found a link, does anyone know if this is legit?

and yes I know asking here is cheeky but I’m at my wits end and I know quite a few of you are clued up on this in real life.

Thank you x

Do they not still allow you to complete most online then they print and send it to you? Is there a reason you cannot use the online service?

Mrsjayy · 30/05/2022 14:57

Dh did his online got a digital photo at a photo booth you upload it from email job done you don't need to print it off but you can if you want.

I want to use the one week service and they are asking for a paper copy of the application form. I would have loved to do it online but that’s for the online 2 day service and that’s v v expensive.

I've just done my renewal online.

I'm sure that when it was a totally paper system each form was individually numbered, and you had to ask at the counter; the forms weren't out to be picked up.

I found it here on what seems like a government website. It looks the same as the one you found so I imagine it will be okay.

Did he use the one week service or the faster online premium?

Thank you too, I will call the line and see if they can post it to me. If not I will have to get the cavalry out. Thanks all.

to anyone else watching this thread. Don’t use the form I found online

”This form is only for British applicants
from certain countries applying from outside the UK. Check www.gov.uk/overseas- passports for specific advice about how to renew or apply for your passport from the country you are in.”.

many thanks to all xx

What a crazy system - that's a real flaw on the fast track service.

Kathers92 · 30/05/2022 15:09

As I found out it has to be a "main" post office not just your local shop. Also online the service says the 1 week fast track, but the person who completed my interview said its seven days not including weekends. So I'm not actually sure if my passport is going to come in time.

Mrsjayy · 30/05/2022 15:31

No he didn't use the 1 week service although it didn't take long to come, what a palava I hope you get it sorted.

I agree. This could have been less painful with an online form that could be printed off

Just to confuse matters even more. The one week fast track appointments are being offered three weeks ahead. So potentially passports would come back in 4 weeks approx
