To be a bit worried

I saw the gp a week ago. He referred me for an ultrasound of my ovaries after my CA125 test was a little elevated. I got a letter from the hospital yesterday for an appointment on Friday. Is this time frame normal? I thought it'd be a relatively short wait given they are looking for cysts and growths. My dh is flipping out thinking I must be really ill because previous MRI scans etc have usually taken months. I'm trying to reassure him that I'm pretty sure this is normal procedure. Can anyone help?

Presumably the GP has referred you under the 2 week wait pathway. It’s totally normal to be seen quickly with elevated results, although that doesn’t necessarily mean there is a sinister reason for the results but they do need to see you quickly to be sure.

I was sure I'd read on here about two week pathway but couldn't remember what it was called. This helps me talk my dh down. He'll/we'll both worry more than we need to but it's reassuring to know this is normal. Thanks again xx
